YouGottaLoveYourselfThe fact that someone else loves you doesn’t rescue you from the project of loving yourself. – Sahaj Kohli

Such a powerful reminder that no matter who you invite into your life, no matter how much their love soothes the pains of the past, you still have to make it a priority to love yourself.

Take time out today and everyday moving forward to love yourself…

  1. Forgive yourself.
  2. Be patient with yourself.
  3. Do what honors yourself.
  4. Accept yourself and your quirks.
  5. Educate yourself.
  6. Ensure you are engaging in activities that respect yourself.
  7. And have fun doing things all by yourself!

Let’s challenge ourselves to not get too caught up in the romance of love and then stop pouring into ourselves.

  1. Awesome….Love it. I know it applies to everyone but often times as women, mothers and caregivers our needs get placed on the back burner…..very nice points!!!

#2 is the hardest for me! I am have such high standards for myself. I have always said “God-forbid I hold someone else to the standards I hold myself, that would just be cruel.” Although it’s one way I motivate myself to strive for perfection but it’s something I have to keep in check. Thank God for my husband and my mother who are good at reminding me of when I’m failing at #2! I think having people in your life that will remind you to practice these 7 things are important too!!!

Great Post! Over the last two years I’ve learned to be more patient with myself. Listening to my body has helped me lose over 60 plus pounds. When all of my friends were dropping the pounds, I wanted the quick fix, but I had to learn me. I had to learn what worked for them wasn’t working for me and that I was going to have to put in the work, if I loved myself the way I say I did. I learned to be patient with me and sure enough I saw the results.

Veronica this is a great post. I believe that we all spend our lives remembering to love our self. I have done all of these things but have to be ever vigilant about keeping it up.
