Giving thanks…It’s that time of year again where we as family and friends sit around the table giving and showing thanks to those who we care about. It’s a time to show our humility and gratitude for everything we have in our life. I was taught that Thanksgiving was not just about being thankful for what you have, but being thankful for being able to help someone else. On Thanksgiving my family usually spends the mornings at shelters feeding the homeless and families in need. Later in the afternoon we come together and give thanks for another Thanksgiving we are able to see. Through the course of our day we take turns asking each other, “What are you thankful for?” With that in mind, we also make it known that Thanksgiving should be everyday, not just one day out of a year.
Take time reflect and look back to recount all the blessings that have poured down over you and your family. We are often so busy with our lives and rarely take time to slow down to reflect…this Thanksgiving I am reflecting on what was, what is and what’s to come.
